Basic raiding requirements and etiquette:
requirements for raiding with SA:
Raid say is for directions / assistance from raid leaders.
Join raid chat channels. We need this for coordination.
- Evilraid:day is for helping each other, general foolery, and everything else. EVERYONE should join this one.
- Tanks join dead:pad.
- Healers join saheal:thx.
Download and use GINA.
Follow emotes to the best of your ability, GINA helps with this - repeatedly missing emotes will get you asked to sit out of the event. Asked to sit repeatedly, and you will be banned from the event. If you have to sit out of the event, you will gain dkp, but will not be able to go in on loot. If banned from an event, you will not accrue dkp or be able to go in on loot from that event.
If you have been asked to assist with a main role of your class and you don't, you will be asked to sit out. IE tanking, healing, debuffing.
For raid leaders/officers: If you are asked to sit out, or are contacted about an issue, it WILL be done in TELLS and not in public, we are not in the business of making people feel bad, we're here for everyone to have fun!
For raiders: Do not publicly call someone out, you can say in group if they are missing emotes, ask them to follow, help them follow, but do NOT publicly call them out, if you have a problem, please speak to an officer/raid leader and they will contact the person in tells and resolve the issue.
etiquette for raiding with SA:
Coordinate with your group/raid mates to maximize DPS/Healing/Tanking.
Join a voice chat (vent or teamspeak), you don't have to talk, but giving instructions is much easier on the raid leaders and we can also help each other with emotes faster with voice than with typing.
Use common sense - example - if you are a healer of a DPS group and asked to help heal the main tank, healing your group is your first priority, and healing the main tank is secondary, but comes before the class secondary role of DPS! If your group dies, they cant do their job! there are obvious exceptions to every rule, please ask someone if you have a concern.
Don't box on events that you cannot keep up with the emotes on both characters.
Don't box if your participation with each drops to below 85%, we would rather have a single great played character than a horde of boxes, unless asked by a raid leader for a specific purpose.
Remember that when raiding, you are there for fun, so are 53 other people, don't slack to the point of making the other 53 lives miserable and playtime not fun.
Ask questions, asking doesn't hurt, and can provide a wealth of knowledge. If you ask someone and they give you attitude, stop asking them, and ask someone else. PLEASE ask Sojero if you have any questions I will always gladly help, I enjoy helping.
Don't be afraid to ask someone to do their job, referring back to the fun part, if someone is dying constantly because they aren't getting healed, the healer has just destroyed their (groups) fun. Same with tanking, if someone doesn't use discs and dies and creates a train of deaths, that is not good.
Please take 10 minutes out of your week and look at the strats on allakhazam or freelance and think about your classes role and what you can do. This will actually end up saving more of your time because of failed attempts, explanation, etc.
Please make the following hotkeys:
Tank hotkey:
\g XXXX is tanking %t
\(dead:pad channel) XXXXX is tanking %t
\(evilraid:daychannel) XXXXX is tanking %t
This key does 3 things:
1. lets your group healer know to heal you
2. lets the other tanks know you are tanking and getting heals so they dont try and take your mob, if they see another mob on you, by a different name, they can grab that
3. Lets the main raid know you are tanking and if there is support healing needed or anything else you have it
Healer hotkey:
\g XXXX is healing %t
\(saheal:thx) XXXXX is healing %t
\(evilraid:daychannel) XXXXX is healing %t
This key does 3 things:
1. lets your group know you are healing a tank or offtank, and they may need to use potions, a ranger or bst heal, etc
2. lets the other healers know you are healing a tank they don't have to concentrait on your tank.
3. Lets the main raid know you are healing your tank
With these keys we also need to work together with other communications:
Make a key for asking for assistance
tank:
\(dead:pad channel) Please take a mob off me, I am tanking multiples - this means any tank not tanking, dont grab more if you already have one! also dont take the main one that they have called.
healer:
\(saheal:thx channel) Please assist in healing %t - this is if you need more heals on that tank - the healer that helps should use the first key so that not all healers go to that tank, also if you are healing your tank, dont stop to heal another!
Healing should always go:
Your assigned offtank > group members > main tank
If there are multiple healers in a group, one should be healing the group and doing other duties such as slows, malo, etc and the other should be healing MT/OT, unless you are in a group with multiple tanks, then let someone else take care of slows etc.
The main tank has dedicated healers in his group, if we have a bunch of adds they can pop AA etc to take up the slack while we deal with the rest of the raid, if they need help they will call for it. When nothing is being off tanked, all healers should switch back to main tank while your group is at full health.
