** RAIDING **
Raid Attendance
Unlike most 'raid guilds,' 99.9% raid attendance is not mandatory, however, teamwork is MANDATORY. You do not have to raid 8 days a week like the raid guilds, however, you WILL be expected to join at least ONE raid every now and then to show your active participation. It is understandable if you prefer not to live a 24-7 EQ life.
If you have to work or have something important to do, and simply can not attend, that is acceptable - however, if you are regularly online frequently and never participate time after time, you are giving indication that you are not a team player. That is to say, a fly by nighter just staying around for access to the guild hall portal until you can hop to the next guild. This will not be tolerated. You will be given a hard time just to encourage you to join the raid. If you want help with an epic fight and you do not help others, you will not receive help in return. If you are active you are required to raid a minimum of 25%.
Members who do not show up to this minimum may be questioned and possibly guild removed for lack of participation. Keep in mind that if you simply can not attend and have a valid reason, due to work or other real life activities, you will not be kicked. If you have been in the guild for a year and have 0 DKP (that means you haven't attended any raids) and I see you grinding in a group zone, you will probably be kicked.
Members are, of course, encouraged to attend raids as often as possible in order to do something fun other than the same old boring grind that you've been working on all week, and possibly scoring some upgrades. There is plenty of ‘free’ time to work on levels, aa’s, or whatever you wish. Please make an effort to attend the few scheduled events we hold each week.
Raid Chat
The only text that should be coming through raid chat is that which effects the entire raid. Chat channels may be set up for general chatter.
The following are the only messages that should be used during a raid in /rs:
1. “Incoming” messages from the puller.
2. “Assist me”messages from the tank, or split-tanks.
3. “Mezzing” messages from crowd control.
4. General statements by the Raid Leader or Raid Looter.
IF YOU ARE NOT THE RAID LEADER, PULLER, OR TANK ... DO NOT PULL.
If you think you know something important, send a tell to those in charge.
The raid leader and officers in attendance should be the ONLY ones to represent the guild in /ooc or /say during guild events or raids. This is especially important when Callidus is a "guest" at another guild's event.
Raiding is supposed to be fun. If you cause unpleasant results by carelessly or intentionally disrupting the raid, this ruins peoples' fun. This pisses me off. You will be removed from the raid and given zero DKP and possibly removed from the guild, depending on the severity.
General Raid Behavior
Raiding is supposed to be difficult. The most fun raids are usually the most chaotic, and the most rewarding. It is quite a rush to overcome our mistakes and beat a difficult boss that previously seemed impossible. If it was easy everyone in EQ would breeze right through every expansion in a month and quit until the next expansion came out. Expect to die multiple times.
This does not mean we die on purpose or due to careless stupidity. The less mistakes we make the easier it will be to correct the existing mistakes and perfect our strategy. Remember, there is always room for improvement.
Unless you have been assigned a forward duty (ie. scout, puller, or tank) ... Please stay in close range to raid party. If you are curious about your surroundings, explore the zone on your own time. You may be completely comfortable with your ability to sneak, hide, or remain invisible, but the rest of us aren’t.
Never engage a mob unless the main tank or split tanks have announced a message to assist them. If you get agro because you fail to obey this procedure, do not expect a heal. Raid healers are focused on keeping the tanks alive.
If you are consistently gaining agro from slows or nukes, after repeated instruction to lighten it up, do not expect a heal. This could earn you a quick trip to your bind point.
The Raid Leader’s decision is final. If s/he explains how an encounter is to unfold, and you take it upon yourself to initiate a separate technique, you will be removed from the raid. Please share your insights if you think they may be helpful, and we will decide at that time whether a different plan should be implemented. Your ideas and comments are valuable, and will always be considered.
Make sure you come to a raid prepared. Have gate potions (if you have no other means to gate), shrink potions, healing potions, an EB item or AA (not just an EB buff, these can be dispelled), mez breaking potions (stinging wort), instant junk buff clickies, food and drink, and any necessary keys, bane damage weapons, or turn-in items. The ability to see invis and to levi is a plus!
AFKing during raids may be necessary if you have to run to the bathroom or something, but by all means say something. The parser will be running, so you can't lie your way out of saying you were present when you weren't. If we are depending on you to be there and you are AFK during a boss fight you will get a warning. The second time you will be removed. Repeated offenses will mean you will be locked out of future events permanently.
