**Looting and DKP**
Some guilds reward X amount of points for certain types of raids, successful raids, keying / back flagging raids, epic raids, new raids, or whatever. It just seems to complicate things. Your EQ time is valuable and should be rewarded as such. Your time is no less valuable in one raid than another. Until it is necessary to implement a new point value system, we keep it short and simple:
- 25 DKP points for normal or trivial targets.
- 75 Points for new targets.
- 150-200 Points for an especially challenging encounter that takes the entire evening. The raid roster will usually be recorded in increments and award partial DKP as people may come and go throughout the evening.
This means if we raid say, Anguish and have 6 targets, you will get 150 DKP by the time the night is over. If you leave part way through the raid you will be given partial DKP.
- You are expected to be early, at the meeting spot and ready to roll. Whether you get credit for the raid is dependent on the time the raid log is recorded. If you show up late you may or may not get credit depending on several factors. It is in your best interest to show up early so you can get credit for being there when the raid roster is being recorded.
- DKP will be deducted for not following instruction or wiping the raid due to lack of preparation or careless stupidity. Wiping does not necessarily mean a DKP penalty if everyone has tried their best, especially on new raids, however, you are expected to pay attention to raid instructions to ensure that everything flows as smoothly as possible.
Players who intentionally or carelessly disrupt a raid in any way will be removed from the raid and will receive zero DKP for that event.
Non-gear drops, or loot that doesn't apply to keys or flags, will either be sold or placed in the guild bank. Tradeskill or quest drops will be given to guilded raid members who request them, or the opportunity to bid DKP on it should you wish to. It behooves you to research what drops are possible from a raid, so that you know if you may need them.
Coins obtained during a raid go to the poor people who can't afford basic necessities like invis potions and soulstones.
DKP will usually be updated within 48 hours of an event. Players have 7 days to dispute their DKP balance before the total becomes permanent.
Members who disband from the guild will have their current DKP reduced to zero. Former members are rarely invited back, but should the player return to the guild at a later time, their original DKP will not be reimbursed. They may also incur a DKP penalty to help them decide whether they really want to stay in the guild or not.
Each raid will have a designated looter, for trash drops. It is the responsibility of the raid looter to ensure that all predetermined drops are awarded to the intended person. It is also the responsibility of the raid looter to ensure that all drops are awarded fairly, and to the appropriate class. The raid loot setup will be set to ALL to ensure that the appropriate person is able to loot the appropriate items. You are expected to act like an adult and not loot items that don't belong to you. Poor people will be given the opportunity to cleanup any rotting corpses, however, ninja looting a major drop is a major offense and you should know better. You will not be given the opportunity to do it again.
Upon a drop you are given a chance to speak up and use DKP to bid on an item that you can use QUICKLY. This will help the raid go quicker and we can get the loot divided, so everyone isn't standing around waiting for you to alt tab out of porn. The DKP goes to the highest bidder, auction style, starting at 10DKP. If you have to pause to decide whether or not the item in question is an upgrade for you, it probably isn't enough of an upgrade to bid on.
If you bid 20, someone else bids 30, you will have the opportunity to outbid them, in increments of 10, but quickly so that the raid flows smoothly. If you miss a bid because you were ninja AFK, TOO BAD. You may wish to remain attentive next time so that you can bid on the item you desired. We divide the loot as quickly as possible to discourage ninja looters and to keep the raid flowing as quickly as possible.
Main toons get top priority on bidding on loot, then alts and guests. If no one bids DKP the item will go to the highest roller, depending on the seed. You get ONE roll, whether it's a valid roll or a mistaken roll. The raid looter will set a SEED and will announce in raid chat to say it's a seed. If the raid looter does a /ran to set the seed and you didn't follow instructions and roll the wrong number, too bad. Your roll is void and you can't roll again. Pay attention next time.
Drops are not necessarily awarded on a need-before-greed basis. Mains in attendance receive highest priority for all gear, weapon, quest and epic drops. Member alts in attendance are next in line, followed by raid guests. Do not request or roll on a drop that a main can use. We need to upgrade our core force first.
Any behavior that resembles or constitutes Ninja looting will result in immediate removal from the raid. Depending on the circumstances, the player may be removed from the guild and a game report sent. NEVER loot a corpse during a raid, unless you have been specifically asked to do so, or if you are absolutely sure that you have won the bid/roll on the item.
Before requesting, rolling, or spending DKP on a drop, ask yourself:
1. Is the item an upgrade for you?
2. Would it better serve a different class, or individual player? To improve the raid party as a whole..
The Raid Looter’s decision on drop awards is final. You are always welcome to discuss or post your comments after the raid has ended. Mistakes will be made. Keep in mind that there will be plenty of opportunities to revisit zones and mobs.
PLEASE NOTE:
The raid leader, officers, and raid looter may use their discretion to award loot to senior members, regardless of who ‘wins’ the drop, although we make every effort to maintain fairness. Members who have proven their loyalty to Callidus, and who are deemed a long-term asset to the guild will always be given preference over others.
